Tagbilaran City’s number five drug personality was arrested by police operatives in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday evening.

The city police conducted the operation against one of Tagbilaran City’s top pushers Dennis “Kongkong” Kapirig, 44, at 9:30 p.m near the suspect’s residence at Benigno Simeon Aquino St. Brgy. Booy.

During the operation, a police-poseur buyer successfully transacted with Kapirig who sold to the undercover cop suspected shabu worth P500.

Operatives of the city police immediately moved in to apprehend Kapirig who yielded four other packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is currently detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail pending the filing of drug charges against him.

According to Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., Tagbilaran City police chief, the suspect previously surrendered to authorities through Oplan Tokhang.

However, after monitoring Kapirig’s movements, police found out that the suspect continued to peddle illegal drugs.

Police across Bohol have been apprehending other top drug personalities in various towns who have supposedly pledged to stop drug involvement through Oplan Tokhang.

Some of the suspects, including Jason Diaz and Dexter Maligmat, number one drug personalities in Sierra Bullones and Tubigon respectively, have yielded to authorities before but reportedly continued drug operations, prompting police to arrest them. (Willy Maestrado)
